I am based under the shady ferns of Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges, where I live with my partner, new baby, a clutch of hens and (objectively) far too many cats. I have always been enamoured with the rhythm of stories or poems written in verse. As a child, nothing held my attention like Dr. Seuss. As a teenager, I played the drums, listened to rap music, and wrote poems for my friends. As an adult, I delight in now having a good reason again to buy picture books for my baby. I can also recite all of Hamilton in one breath. It is an enduring love.
I have a bachelors degree in neuroscience, and a graduate certificate in politics and policy, which I have not used to inform my career trajectory in the slightest. I have made a career out of managing people across various industries, and currently work for an ethical, plant based chocolate company (which has its perks, let me tell you!).
A few years ago, I was given the luxury of time when I spent a couple of years receiving treatment for a tricky, sticky, cancer. This allowed me to focus on my life’s true passions, and I started writing and illustrating my own children’s books with the earnest intention of getting published.
